Corey stood outside Mighty Oak Lodge with bated breath. He was waiting to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day. Waiting to start his life with her.
Alyssa opened the door slowly, walked up, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned, and neither could contain themselves. Alyssa lost it, tears of joy falling down her cheeks as Corey wiped them away. They held each other, read letters to each other, and spent time breathing each other in. This was their moment together before the excitement of their wedding began.
It was their first look, and it brought Mel and I to tears.
We crave moments like this on a wedding day. When a couple is vulnerable enough and joyful enough to bare it all. It means the world to us when we are invited in to these intimate moments of pure emotion. And Alyssa and Corey are one of those inspirational couples that absolutely just belong together. They are so fun, so happy, and so enamored with each other.
Every aspect of their day was filled with love – from the look Alyssa’s father gave her before he led her down the ceremony aisle, to the custom favors they made for each guest (including us!), it was so incredibly sweet.
And at the end of the day, Alyssa and Corey stood with their guests and threw paper airplanes into the air, celebrating the end of one journey and the beginning of another.
Theirs was a wedding that, as a photographer, renews your very spirit. We left with the biggest smiles and fullest hearts.
Congratulations, Alyssa and Corey. We love you.
“Once I met Steph I felt immediately at ease. Engagement and wedding day shoots are so intimate, and Steph did an amazing job making us feel comfortable and relaxed throughout both shoots. She gets you to be your true self with some small simple steps and captures it all beautifully. Her method is spot on.
The best thing about working with Steph was how easy it was to work with her. When we had our first video chat I felt like she was someone who I just wanted to get to know. She is super friendly, bubbly, goofy, and I love all of that! It felt like I was working with a friend and not just a professional transaction.
If you want someone who you will call you a friend after the wedding, Steph is the one. She is passionate about her craft and loves her brides.”
