Emily embraced her father with all the love a daughter could possess when she saw him on her wedding day. He had raised her, taught her, and today, was going to give her away to her new husband, Philip.
But first, they sat quietly together in the small historic church that meant so much to their family, holding hands and praying before the ceremony.
Emily had done the same with Philip just a few moments prior, taking time out of her wedding day to spend it with the people she loved the most.
As a photographer, you never quite know when to capture moments like this, and when to let them be, so Mel and I snapped one photo, and walked out of the little chapel to leave them in peace. Some moments are just meant to be lived.
Later, Emily would find her dad throughout the day, holding his hand at the reception, and wiping tears as the band played their favorite song.
After spending time with Emily and her family during her bridal session, every single moment of her wedding meant that much more. From her sweet mother thanking her bridesmaids for being there, to Philip being so attentive to his bride, and so excited to marry her, to her sister Hannah being the best matron of honor ever, to the honey favors from their own farm, the Airedale cookies made in her pup’s image, and just so much love and throughout the day – it was perfect.
Thank you, Philip and Emily, for inviting us in to such a special day. So much love to you both.
